Does your beloved have a thing about the beach? Ask her (him, whatever) to spend the rest of your lives together with a message in the sand!
Make it their screen saver, attach it in email, frame it & hang it on the wall and wait to see how long it takes before they notice it. LOL
Proposals can be personalized just like my other beach writings. Check out my shop HERE.

Love you
The Beatles sang "All you need is love"
I wish more people would love instead of hate.
And I don't care who you love, just as long as you love instead of hate, it's all good.
I let go of hate a long time ago. Hating someone is giving them rent free space in your head and I don't have that much to share LOL.
Love one another,
put other people first
be thoughtful
be grateful and gracious
and this world would be a lot better of a place.

The Valentine Tree
Back on January 17th I posted that I was going to draw a tree on my wall. You can read the blog here
Tree on the Wall
Here is what I drew out
Tree on the Wall
Here is what I drew out
Believe it or not, I finally did it.
First I drew it out with chalk.
I used colored chalk because I had it and the walls are a very very light shade of green. I think it's called Celery Ice.
Then I painted the tree and branches
I originally wanted to paint leaves 2 colors, but I didn't like the 2nd color I bought, so they're all the same color.
My 8 year old neighbor told me I was a better artist then the grammar school art teacher.
WOOT!
Gotta love that!
I think it came out pretty good but I've been wanting to do another coat and haven't gotten around to it.
Last night I came home from teaching my night class and dear husband tells me he made my valentine's day present but I'll end up seeing it that night when we go to bed. I was confused until I walked up the stairs.
He added our initials to the tree <3
How sweet is that?
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

The Tree on the Wall
Now that we're out of foreclosure & will be staying in this house until our younger son graduates high school in 2018, it's time to redecorate!
Honestly, when we moved in here 10 years ago, I only half decorated. The kids were little and we had other things to do.
Then things got bad, and we took everything down figuring we were going to have to move & it may have had to happen in a very short time frame. But like I said, now things are better & we're staying.
BTW I'd like to just add a side note. If you are in NJ and need the very best foreclosure lawyer, go see Bill Penkethman.
OK back to decorating.
We had the stairs completely redone a few years ago. The guy did such an awesome job, they look beautiful! He did the stairs & the railing, not the trim on the sides, so I'd like to eventually replace some of that. But more importantly, the walls are bare (and dirty, need to wipe them down). I've been thinking about what I want.
At one point I was thinking of something with books at the top of the stairs. I saw somewhere that someone made a faux fireplace out of hard cover books. I thought that was a great idea, but then I remembered I'm in a house full of males & dogs, so putting something like that at the small area at the top of the stairs is probably a very bad idea.
Now there is a trend of vinyl wall clings. I really like the idea. I bought this from Amazon & put it on the wall in my tiny half bath. (stock picture from Amazon, my bathroom is green)
It's really cute. I put it down by the baseboard like in the picture above. BUT I'm thinking if I can find a frame big enough I'll white wash it & then move the whole thing up the wall. My half bath in tiny, maybe 4x4 so decorations have to been on the less loud side.
This made me think of the vinyl tree wall clings. I did a Google image search and saw some great ones. I loved some of them, but decided I want to paint it. So I looked around at the different ones & found one I like and would work. It's going to go in the corner and branch out on both walls.
This is the image I drew to see if I could do it.

I like the way it came out, so the next step is to figure out colors, and what kind of paint I need to use and to draw it out on the wall. I cheat and draw it in chalk first then paint.
Yes, in the tree trunk is a heart with mine & Mike's initials, and yes that will be in the finished product as well.
Then when it's all said & done, I'm going to hang pictures from ribbons to make it look like they're hanging from the branches.
I will do another blog when I actually get to work on this one!
Update 1/23/12 I did the tree yesterday. It needs another coat or two of paint, but looks awesome! Check back for a step by step blog!

Reaching out to our soldiers!
FACEBOOK/BLOG EXCLUSIVE!
In speaking my with dear friend Veronica, she suggested offering these cards to our troops serving overseas, but instead of shipping the card to them, I would write a message supplied by the buyer and send it to their loved one here in the states.
I thought that was an AWESOME idea.
So here is what I am doing. And this can ONLY be done through my facebook page and by messaging me from here. www.facebook.com/beachwritings or email me.
For a Paypal payment of ONLY $5.50 I will ship you the card like the one pictured above, along with a blank envelope. The inside of the card is blank. Card measurements are 5 1/2 by 8 1/2.
OR
If you are serving our country, for the same price of just $5.50 I will write or print out your message inside the card, with the picture above on the front, and mail it directly to your loved one. While I originally thought of only offering this for our brave men & women serving overseas, I don't want to exclude those who are serving far from home.
I am not selling these in my etsy shop, these are a Facebook/Blog Exclusive. And the $5.50 includes shipping.
If you are nervous about doing this transaction outside of Etsy, send me a message and I will put a private listing for you on Etsy, but to cover the fees it will be $6 instead of $5.50
I only ship to the United States.
Please let me know if you have ANY questions!

Valentine's Day
"Valentine's Day is a HALLMARK Holiday!"

That is the battle cry of single men and women everywhere!
"Why do I need a special holiday to give the person I love something that tells them I love them?"
Is what the ones who are married or in a relationship say.
Because you, my friend, are a dumb ass. You shouldn't need a day, but you do. And when was the last time you actually bought something for the one you love on a random day?
Go ahead, take some time to think about it, I can wait.
Most of you are still thinking. Some of you are thoughtful and surprise your honey with a cute little something for no reason. But most of us don't.
Yes, I said US, I am guilty of it too. So Valentine's Day is a good time to make it up to your love. Get them a little something.
Guys, listen carefully.... Want a little "something" from your woman? Send her flowers AT WORK. Sending her a bouquet to work is better then changing your relationship status on Facebook. It's like a trophy to most women. But before you run to the local florist or hop on some online site, make sure you know what kind of flowers she likes!!!
I've had several boyfriends send me roses. One even sent 3 dozen to my work one time.
I'm allergic to roses.
Their scent gives me a migraine.
I passed out those 3 dozen to my coworkers and then left work early that day.
The price of roses are so over inflated at this time of year, you don't want to screw that up!
Personally I'm a fan of Daisies.
Chocolates are a good thing, unless your lover is on a diet or diabetic LOL
